有些球迷擔心的禁藥問題，關於他的延伸問題：禁賽，是部份媒體所擔心的問題，據說禁藥會出現禁賽５０場的問題，這個在去年大聯盟的時候早就已經執行過了。詳細如下：

The Athletics have announced that Manny Ramirez has requested his outright release and the team has granted his request.  The veteran recently completed his 50-game suspension and was eligible to join the club on May 30th.

運動家隊發佈拉米瑞茲請求免除他全部的禁賽，在去年的２月２１日已經以小聯盟約跟他簽訂如果上大聯盟的話年薪可拿到５０萬，當他回到大聯盟時需要接受５０場的禁賽，畢竟打過PED，也因此最快將在去年的６月初就可以上場，但是最後在６月中的時候主動與運動家隊中止合約，理由是沒有發展的空間，但這個禁賽問題也早已經解決了。

Manny Ramirez is going to the A's on a minor league deal, tweets Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.  The deal is worth about $500K in the Majors, reports ESPN's Pedro Gomez.  The signing has been expected for several weeks.

Manny must first serve a 50-game suspension for violating MLB's performance-enhancing drug policy a second time, making his earliest possible debut June 2nd at Kansas City, according to Gomez.  Ramirez retired when news of the suspension hit in April of last year, but was reinstated in December.

這問題早已經解決了，不知道為什麼還有媒體在炒的消息？是要汙衊Manny來台的可能性？還是要把他的名聲搞臭，這就不得而知了。

補充一下，原本２０１１年在光芒時被抓到二次使用禁藥，原本要禁賽１００場（大聯盟規定第一次發現禁賽５０場，第二次禁賽達１００場，第三次就是永久禁賽），但Manny因為宣布退休，且他在光芒退休到加入運動家之間都沒打球，並主動跟聯盟申請禁賽減少到５０場，大聯盟也有同意，最終才因此而結案。
